The Performance Optimisation and Productivity 3 project (POP3) is one of fourteen Centres of Excellence (CoEs) within EuroHPC JU and aims to optimise the performance of scientific applications across a wide field of topics in both industry as well as research. The project’s purpose is to analyse the performance of applications qualitatively and quantitatively and provide advise and support to improve the performance of codes. On a secondary service level POP3 will be able to provide proof-of-concepts, correctness-checks, energy-efficiency and advisory studies for individuals users as well as on a larger scale, such as for EuroHPC sites and applications. POP3 will develop tools and methodologies to analyse applications as well as best practises.

The project is an extension of the POP1 CoE (2015-2018) and POP2 CoE (2015-2022) which successfully optimised over 350 HPC applications, achieving significant performance gains in the process.
