HPCQS at ISC 2024: Ongoing Event Showcases Quantum Advancements
The HPCQS consortium is making waves at ISC 2024, which began on May 13 in Hamburg, by unveiling the imminent installation of Pasqal's first 100-qubit analog quantum computer at CEA’s TGCC in France, slated to be operational by September 2024. A twin system will be installed at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre later this year, marking a significant milestone in Europe's quantum computing landscape.
Currently, Pasqal is demonstrating this groundbreaking technology live, offering attendees a glimpse of its integration with the Joliot-Curie supercomputer. The event also highlights substantial expansions to the HPC-QC software environment, introducing new tools like Callisto, Felis, MIMIQ, and Qrisp, which complement the existing suite of emulators and programming frameworks.
On May 16, the event will host several workshops aimed at offering attendees a concentrated and comprehensive forum for presentations, discussions, and engagement on specific topics. Key among these is the HPCQS consortium workshop, specifically organized for ISC 2024, to present the first project results to researchers and companies. This workshop, a product of close cooperation between ICHEC, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), and Pasqal, seeks to integrate potential end users into the HPCQS community, highlighting the hybrid system’s capabilities and user engagement facilitated through JUNIQ.
