HPCQS at SC24: Showcasing Quantum and Supercomputing Innovations
The HPCQS consortium made a strong impact at the Supercomputing Conference 2024 (SC24) in Atlanta, where over 18,000 attendees gathered to explore advancements in supercomputing, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies. HPCQS partners actively participated in discussions, demonstrations, and presentations, with representatives from the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), EuroHPC JU, and other key institutions sharing insights on the future of hybrid quantum-classical computing. JUNIQ played a central role in these engagements, with experts showcasing the D-Wave quantum annealer JUPSI and highlighting HPCQS' collaboration with Pasqal.
At the JSC booth, Sebastian Schulz and Orkun Şensebat from JUNIQ introduced visitors to JSC’s quantum computing strategy, while Pasqal experts presented applications of their Orion quantum simulator, recently delivered to HPCQS. The event also featured contributions from project partners such as CEA, ICHEC, ParTec, BSC, CINECA, and EVIDEN, all showcasing their latest achievements in quantum and supercomputing research. With SC24 providing a global stage for next-generation computing, HPCQS demonstrated its role in advancing Europe's quantum-HPC ecosystem through its latest milestones and collaborations.
