Gabriela Figueroa Miranda presents her project at Falling Walls Science Summit 2023 (Berlin)
07.11.2023. Our IBI-3 colleague Dr. Gabriela Figueroa Miranda has participated in a unique international scientific event – Falling Walls Science Summit 2023 in Berlin from 7-9 November.
The Falling Walls Science Summit is a prestigious three-day gathering uniting experts from various scientific disciplines to explore groundbreaking research and foster collaborative solutions for the challenges of our time. As a global platform for scientific exchange, this annual event serves as a catalyst for innovation, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, and promoting breakthrough thinking. Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and stepping stone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally.
Within 100 other international Falling Walls Lab Winners 2023 Gabriela participated in the Summit as the Winner of the Lab Baden-Württemberg Falling Walls Competition 2023.
In 3-minute pitches, each of the 100 international Falling Walls Lab winners presented their solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
Gabriela pitched in three minutes her project idea “Breaking the Wall of Wrong Malaria Diagnosis”. The pitch described the concept of the biosensor technology that she and her team is developing for the accurate detection of malaria among other infectious and chronic diseases.
