Abstract: PyCOMPSs offers a programming model for exploiting the inherent parallelism of Python sequential programming within distributed environments. On the other hand, Spark is a fast and general engine for large-scale data processing, generalizing Map Reduce. Since both of them apply different strategies in order to face similar problems, this short presentation has been designed to provide a comparison of the main points of interest between PyCOMPSs and Spark.
