Rhizosphere traits: small scale, big effects?

The root dynamics group from IBG-2 presented at the 3rd workshop on rhizosphere traits of upland rice in March 2023. This time held at ZALF (Leibniz-Zentrum für Agrarlandschaftsforschung) in Müncheberg.

Rhizosphere traits: small scale, big effects?

Combinations of traits in the rhizosphere and the interaction of small-scale processes are suggested to influence plant efficiency. Phenotyping such traits is particularly important for developing countries with soils with poor nutrient availability and fertilization options. Researchers provide insights for plant breeders and discover relevant traits for future crops1.
