Molecules of Life

Jörg Fitter, Institute for Structural Biology (Jülich) and Biophysics (Aachen)
and Oliver Weiergräber, Institute for Structural Biochemistry (Jülich)

The series of lectures addresses five main topics and aims at an interdisciplinary audience. First, we will introduce the major molecules of life, e.g., proteins, DNA, and RNA. We will discuss how these molecules “work together” and how we can unravel their structural and dynamic properties. To illustrate this further, we will also explain the vital principles of cells. Finally, we will focus on selected cellular processes and present modern methodical and analytical tools that enable us to understand these processes quantitatively.

The lecture series is open to all interested colleagues. Registration is mandatory for participation. In case of overbooking, priority will be given to fellows (members) of the three schools. If you have more than 75% attendance, you can receive a certificate of participation. For questions regarding the lecture or certificates, please contact biosoft@fz-juelich.de.
