Sabyasachi Dasgupta wins the Jülich Excellence Prize

Sabyasachi Dasgupta that has worked in the Institute for Theoretical Soft Matter and Biophysics won the Jülich Excellence Prize 2015. For his thesis project, he had investigated how nanoparticles interact with biological cells. Using numerical calculations for the mechanics of biomembranes, he studied the role of particle shape and size to predict cellular uptake from small nanoparticles up to the micrometer-sized malaria parasite.
