Sleep, Brain, Behaviour
About
The goal of the "Sleep, Brain, Behavior" team, led by PD Dr. Masoud Tahmasian, is to improve the understanding of sleep disturbance and its effects on the brain and behavior.
They investigate how sleep affects our physical and mental health in order to find better ways to treat and prevent neurological and psychiatric disorders.
Research Topics
Have you ever wondered why some people sleep poorly and how this affects their health? That's exactly what our team is exploring! Using state-of-the-art methods such as machine learning and big data analysis, we are investigating how sleep disturbance affects our daily lives and how it is linked to diseases such as Alzheimer's, depression, Parkinson's, and ADHD.
But not only that - we are also interested in the effects of environmental factors and lifestyle habits on sleep behavior. This means that we not only look at the biological causes of sleep disturbance, but also at how factors such as stress, diet and physical activity can affect our sleep.
Our work is based on a huge amount of data, including genetic information, behavioral observations and brain images. By bringing this data together using cutting-edge methods such as machine learning, we can identify patterns and understand relationships that will help us find new ways to improve sleep and prevent associated health problems.
We believe our research can make a real difference by helping us to develop more personalized diagnostic and treatment approaches and help people to sleep better and lead healthier lives.
