SpExNeuro

SpExNeuro is a multimodal research database designed to investigate the relationships between language, executive functions, and their neural foundations.
Within the Brain Variability research group at the INM-7, we collect comprehensive behavioural, speech, and neuroimaging data from healthy adults. A particular focus lies on productive speech acquired during MRI scanning. Our goal is to better understand how language production and executive functioning are related and which neural processes underlie these associations. Furthermore, we investigate individual differences in language and cognition, as well as the potential of speech-derived features as biomarkers of cognitive abilities.
The database enables researchers to jointly analyse productive speech data, neuropsychological measures, structural and functional MRI data, and hormonal assessments. By integrating behavioural and neuroimaging data, SpExNeuro provides a unique resource for studying the complex interactions between language, cognition, and brain function.
