Open Access Framework Agreement with Frontiers – Memorandum of Understanding

18. February 2020

On 17 February 2020, a memorandum of understanding was signed by Forschungszentrum Jülich and scientific publisher Frontiers in Jülich.
The framework agreement will be the largest agreement with a gold open access publisher in the world once the concluding negotiations have been conducted throughout the coming months.
The agreement includes conditions for handling publication charges similar to those agreed upon with large subscription publishers within the scope of Project DEAL. Similarly to DEAL, the publication charges will be handled by the libraries of the participating institutions in this collaboration with Frontiers.

All institutions participating in DEAL can also benefit from this new framework agreement with Frontiers.
