Accessing ZB’s electronic licences and services via VPN
ZB services accessible only from Jülich’s IP range
The Central Library provides Jülich’s employees with an extensive range of information and services on the intranet.
These services include, for example, the JuLib eXtended information portal with access to electronic books, journals, and specialist databases, as well as the option to request literature.
The intranet and many externally licensed resources are accessible from Jülich’s network.
What is VPN?
VPN is short for virtual private network. It is a technology which employees of Forschungszentrum Jülich can use to log on to Jülich’s network from outside the campus and access all of the Central Library’s services. A VPN tunnel is a secure connection to the company network of Forschungszentrum Jülich. Your own PC, as an external computer, is thus allocated the IP range of Forschungszentrum Jülich. A VPN is the basic prerequisite for using Jülich’s internal services via the Internet from outside the campus.
In order to reliably access the publishing services licensed by the Central Library when working from home, please use the VPN solution Cisco AnyConnect with the "FZJ-NOSPLIT" option.
