Language and our services
Achieving international visibility for research at Jülich is one of Forschungszentrum Jülich's fundamental objectives. Funding decisions, the publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal, or the impact of a website often depend on how well written a text is. Forschungszentrum Jülich is becoming increasingly international, making it even more important to provide information for employees in German and English. Providing access to such information makes integration easier for all employees and it fosters a clear sense of belonging.
As a team, the Language Services helps Jülich employees to convey information in a linguistically effective manner – whether it be for internal or external purposes. We provide our customers working in science and administration – the institutes, divisions, and staff units, as well as the various organs of Forschungszentrum Jülich – with the following services:
- Human translation
- Machine translation with postediting
- Linguistic revision/copy editing
- On-the-spot assistance

Contact the Language Services in ZB
The Language Services is a team within the Central Library (ZB) with three native English speakers, one native German speaker, and a team assistant. As we have English and German native speakers, these two languages are the main languages with which we work. The third working language at the Language Services is French, and we offer translations from French into German or English.
