Workshop "Open LUSTRE-for-Linux" (OLFL)

at Jülich Supercomputing Centre
6 September 2010

As a result of the workshop "Open Lustre for Linux", that took place at Forschungszentrum Jülich on May 25th to 26th, the participants recognized that an international community effort is essential to guarantee the future of LUSTRE on Linux platforms. A hierarchical structure was discussed with continental organizations that will either federate with or merge into an international organization.

There was agreement on:

  2. A European association should be founded as soon as possible with the purpose to coordinate and enforce the future LUSTRE development and the support for Linux platforms.
  3. Options for a legal form of the European organization will be prepared by JSC and ParTec.
  4. The next convention is proposed for September 6th, 2010 at Forschungszentrum Jülich, With the goal, to agree on and to prepare the European organization.
