Night of the Libraries at the Central Library on 4 April – Register Now!

Under the motto “Knowledge.Share.Discover”, libraries throughout Germany will open their doors to the public all evening. Library staff are inviting everyone to rediscover their libraries, offering a diverse programme of events, workshops, readings, and guided tours. In Jülich, the municipal library and the Central Library of Forschungszentrum Jülich are taking part in the nationwide campaign.

The Central Library of Forschungszentrum Jülich will open its doors from 17:00 for Night of the Libraries (just after the end of our service hours for scientists). Between 17:30 and 19:30, we will be offering interactive readings and photography highlights for children. You are warmly invited to listen, join in, try things out, and spread the word.
Interactive readings (in German)
- 17:30 – 18:30: Windenergie Kinderleicht – Verständliche Technik für alle (for children aged 6 to 9)
- 18:30 – 19:30: Ada und Zangemann – Ein Märchen über Software, Skateboards und Himbeereis (for children aged 7 and over)
Photography highlights (in German)
- 17:30 – 19:30: An introduction to the photography technique of light painting – fascinating light effects in the dark (for children aged 9 to 12)
- 17:30 – 19:30: An introduction to green screen photography – how to take and digitally alter photos (for children aged 11 to 14)
