The common experiment consists of major crop species reference collections from the German Plant Phenotyping Network (DPPN) planted in the field
Runtime: Every year
The common experiment consists of major crop species reference collections from the German Plant Phenotyping Network (DPPN) planted in the field. The varieties in the reference collection differ in shoot and root traits and provide a test site for various field phenotyping techniques and contribute to the transferability of greenhouse phenotyping to the field. In addition to the reference collection of winter rapeseed, maize and barley other crop species and varieties can and have been added.
IBG-2 provides the field, expertly managed by Campus Klein-Altendorf University Bonn. IBG-2 tests its own sensor and platforms developments as well as of developments within projects such as DPPN. The field is open to use for existing and new collaborations upon decision of the steering committee of the common experiment (contact: Onno Muller)
