Title: Subcellular Metabolism Meets Modelling
Abstract: A main feature of all eukaryotes is their subcellular compartments, with plants having the most significant numbers. The problem is that several metabolic pathways are abundant in more than one compartment, which limits the resolution of common metabolite studies. Here, a suggestion for resolving subcellular metabolism and how a combination with systems biology approaches is applicable to unravel complex non-intuitive metabolism. In more detail, the talk will tackle how plants adapt to a changing environment and the analysis of new laboratory as well as mathematical modelling techniques will be presented. Case studies of plant cold and heat acclimation, as well as kinetic modelling and time series analysis, will be compactly presented and discussed.
