                                                  Prof. Dr. M. Bott / Dr. M. Baumgart - We exploit the biocatalytic power of microbes to produce chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and proteins from renewable carbon sources.

                                                  Genomics and Expression

                                                  Dr. T. Polen – We are working on regulatable expression systems for Gluconobacter oxydans and their applications and with Corynebacterium glutamicum and Vibrio natriegens.

                                                  Bacterial Networks and Interactions

                                                  Prof. Dr. J. Frunzke - We study phage-host interaction to harness viral diversity for metabolic reprogramming and next-generation antimicrobials.

                                                  Synthetic Cell Factories

                                                  Prof. Dr. J. Marienhagen - Our group engineers bacterial cell factories for the microbial production of valuable small molecules from renewable resources.

                                                  Microbial Catalysis

                                                  Prof. Dr. N. Wierckx - We develop microbial catalysts for the bio-based production of chemicals, and investigate the underlying cellular processes.
