The project P³roLucas will promote lupin production in North-Rhine Westphalia. To achieve this, the project focuses on improvement of cultivation practice by exploiting the added value of bio-stimulants as a measure against biotic and abiotic stresses. A cascaded utilisation of lupine will be established by developing the potential of lupin derived alkaloids as a base for novel high-value compounds.

At IBG-4, genomes of lupin varieties will be analysed and newly sequenced. To undestand molecular responses to bio-stimulants, gene expression studies will be performed.
