Enzyme engineering for biocatalysis in ionic cosolvents

We use µs-long molecular dynamic simulations to study the influence of ionic liquid (IL) interaction and redistribution at the surface of industrially relevant enzymes on their stability and stereoselectivity. The results obtained from such studies will provide rational guidelines to the design of optimized enzymes variants to a given IL composition.
