JUICE Alumni Arindam Paul Awarded Third Prize at the HHU Ideas Competition 2026

JUICE Alumni Arindam Paul has been awarded third prize in the "Researchers" category of the HHU Ideas Competition 2026. The award recognizes his startup concept, A Targeted Strategy to Treat Alzheimer's Disease with Precision Medicine, which emerged from his doctoral research.
Dr. Arindam Paul from the Institute for Biological Information Processing – Molecular and Cellular Physiology (IBI-1) and his team are developing a precision medicine approach for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Their innovative strategy combines a genetically engineered therapeutic enzyme with targeted, image-guided drug delivery, enabling localized and minimally invasive treatment. The approach is intended to serve as the foundation for a future spin-off company. For this founding concept, Paul received third prize in the "Researchers" category of the HHU Ideas Competition.
"Our long-term vision is to establish a scalable and cost-effective platform for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases," says Paul, who participated in the JUICE Program in 2025 to further develop the commercialization potential of his research. "JUICE helped me evaluate our technology from the perspective of potential users and communicate its benefits more effectively. Through this process, we have already gained valuable feedback from potential users and customers."
