Publications are an important expression of scientific knowledge. They present the work and results of researchers and should be accessible to all. Jülich scientists are among the most frequently cited worldwide. Here you'll find an overview on some of our research highlights.
Free access to research results
Forschungszentrum Jülich is committed to ensuring that the results of publicly funded research are accessible to science and society. Everyone should be able to read scientific results made possible by the general public free of charge.
This endeavour is also reflected in the licensing agreements that have been concluded with scientific publishers in recent years with the involvement of Forschungszentrum Jülich - most recently with Elsevier in 2023. The agreements give researchers easy access to the publishers' specialist articles. At the same time, they can publish open access at no additional cost. This strengthens free access to publicly funded research. Research results from Germany will thus be immediately freely available, accessible worldwide free of charge and reusable - to the benefit of all.
I am proud that our Central Library was able to play an active role in achieving this great result for Jülich's research institutes, Forschungszentrum Jülich as a company and German science as a whole.
