Environmentally Friendly Detergents, Textiles, and Cosmetics Based on Enzymes
European research project “FuturEnzyme” launched
Jülich, 18 June 2021 – The European project FuturEnzyme, in which a research team from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) at Forschungszentrum Jülich is involved, aims to replace chemical agents with microbial enzymes in commercially available products. It is estimated that the addition of enzymes to detergents, as well as the processing of textiles and cosmetics with enzymes, can reduce CO2 emissions by 42 million tonnes per year.
