Jülich, 20 January 2022 – With the International Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH), Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen University aim to provide university students from West Africa with the qualifications needed to work in the pioneering field of green hydrogen. Following an opening ceremony in Niamey (Niger) last October, the official launch on the German side has now taken place in Jülich. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will invest an initial € 8 million by 2025 in the two-year master’s course as part of its energy research programme “Innovations for the Energy Transition”. Sixty students from fifteen African countries will be taught in accordance with international standards and best practices.
