Kick-off Meeting of AVR Expert Group

Independent experts are examining the operation, boundary conditions, incidents and environmental impacts of the AVR reactor. An interim report is planned for the end of the year. The working group on AVR safety set up by AVR GmbH, operator of the experimental nuclear power plant decommissioned in 1988, and Forschungszentrum Jülich to reappraise the operating history of the AVR reactor met for the first time on 11 July.
