Thomas Rachel Officially Opens New Energy-Efficient Building

Jülich, 16 September 2011 – Thomas Rachel, Member of the Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), today officially opened a new state-of-the-art office block at Forschungszentrum Jülich.

The federal government provided € 2.4 million from the second economic stimulus package for the building, which will accommodate 80 employees from Project Management Jülich, whose work includes implementing research and innovation funding projects for BMBF. State Secretary for Research Thomas Rachel said that “The new building represents a significant improvement in working conditions for the employees of Project Management Jülich”. The new block will replace buildings dating back to Jülich's earliest years that had been previously used as offices.
