Solid Tungsten in the Combustion Chamber

Jülich, 24 October 2011 – Jülich scientists and engineers have designed and constructed key components for the inner wall of the combustion chamber in the world's leading nuclear fusion experiment JET.

With the so-called “ITER-like wall” made of solid tungsten, Forschungszentrum Jülich is contributing to the success of the ITER international fusion reactor.
