Friends and Benefactors of Forschungszentrum Jülich

The Association of Friends and Benefactors of Forschungszentrum Jülich supports scientific work at Forschungszentrum Jülich by contributing financial means and particularly by financing measures that cannot be implemented with public funds. Requests that serve the association's objectives are accepted, evaluated and, if appropriate, supported at any time.

About the Association

Tasks and objectives of the Friends Association

• Promotion of Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) through support of research tasks
• Contribution to the maintenance and expansion of FZJ's scientific relations in Germany and abroad
• Maintenance and expansion of FZJ's contacts and communication with the public
• Awarding of prizes and honours at FZJ

Current focus areas

• Internationalisation: welcoming culture, science diplomacy
• Stand up for Science
• Public understanding of Science
• Participation in events at FZJ (e.g. Open Day 2025) and in Jülich and the surrounding area (e.g. Pasqualini Zeitsprung Festival 2025)

Support for

• Regional competition ‘Jugend forscht’ (Youth Researches) at the FZJ
• Preparatory meeting for the ‘Physics Olympiad’ at the FZJ
• Video production by students with UK at the FZJ
• Christian Wandrey Prize at the IBG of the FZJ
• Student symposia at the Science College Overbach
• Participation in the Jülich Neighbourhood Dialogue

• Individual members: min. 25 € per year
• Legal entities: min. 100 € per year
