Winner motive of this year's Christmas photo competition shows fractal from the Julia set

The image displayed on our website features a section of a fractal from the Julia set. Dr. Michael Schnedler created the star-shaped image using a computer simulation. With this image, the scientist working at Peter Grünberg Institute, Microstructure Research (PGI-5), won this year's Christmas photo competition.
