The Future of Batteries

Jülich researchers part of new battery research project

Münster/Jülich, 26 February 2016 – Next-generation high-energy batteries are earmarked as the successors to present lithium-ion batteries. At the moment, there are several competing technologies. In the BenchBatt research project, scientists are investigating which concepts are most suitable. Attention is focused not only on the competitiveness of future technologies with respect to stability and storage density, but also on costs and availability of materials. The project was launched last week at the battery research centre MEET of the University of Münster.
