New Building for Sustainable Future Energy Supply

Jülich/Erlangen, 12 December 2018 – The Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg for Renewable Energy (HI ERN) conducts fundamental research and develops materials and technologies for a climate-neutral and sustainable energy supply at acceptable costs. On Wednesday, the topping-out ceremony was held for a new € 32 million building on the southern campus of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). The building will house a branch office of Forschungszentrum Jülich that will be operated in cooperation with FAU and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB). The partners will pool their expertise in the fields of materials, energy, and process research.
