Forschungszentrum Jülich Spinoff, minimum energy, Wins "Accelerate Power" Innovation Competition

minimum energy, a startup and spinoff of Forschungszentrum Jülich, has won the "Accelerate Power" innovation program. The company's software, which is designed to develop cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions, was selected by the judging panel.

n the final round on July 24 at the Innovation Center of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, located near Düsseldorf, minimum energy was named the winner. The victory includes a cash prize and the opportunity for a collaboration with the program’s partners.
CerBaTec, a spinoff project from the Institute of Materials Synthesis and Processing (IMD-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, also competed in the final. CerBaTec develops promising alternatives to lithium-ion systems. Both startup projects are founded by alumni of the Jülich Innovation & Entrepreneurship Certificate Program (JUICE) at Forschungszentrum Jülich.
€5,000 Prize Money and New Opportunities
The "Accelerate Power" program, an initiative by RWE Power and the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, supports energy-focused startups in the Rhenish mining district. After a three-month program of workshops and coaching, five teams competed in the final. minimum energy received a €5,000 prize, continued support from RWE Power AG, and the use of office space at the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Innovation Center for one year.

About the JUICE Program
The Jülich Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate Program (JUICE) is a training program for early-career scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The program provides practical knowledge in technology transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Participants develop research-based projects or startup concepts over three phases, which include market analysis, business model development, and pitch training. Past participants from the program include Clean H2eat, Drought Analytics, and CerBaTec.
