High-Achieving School Girls Honoured

Prizes for Girls and Technology Day awarded

Jülich, 8 July 2013 – Ninety girls from secondary schools in Jülich and the Düren district took part in Girls and Technology Day at Forschungszentrum Jülich in mid-May. This annual event has been running for a number of years, and is organized by Forschungszentrum Jülich together with the authorities of Jülich and Düren. The 24 top girls who performed the best on the day have now been awarded their prizes. State Secretary for Research Thomas Rachel, Mayor of Jülich Heinrich Stommel, Director of the Düren District Georg Beyß, and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors Karsten Beneke congratulated the prize winners. The school girls have the opportunity to take up a work placement at Forschungszentrum Jülich at some point during their remaining school years.
