GO-Bio: Jülich Biotech Spin-Off Receives € 2.6 million

Jülich, 16 April 2014 – The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has granted a Jülich spin-off project in the field of biotechnology funding worth € 2.6 million. Dr. Georg Schendzielorz and Dr. Stephan Binder from the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences – Biotechnology (IBG-1) are on one of the seven teams selected for funding as part of BMBF's GO-Bio funding initiative for the foundation of new biotechnology companies. A total of 106 teams had applied for a GO-Bio grant. State Secretary Georg Schütte presented the winning teams with their awards during the Deutsche Biotechnologietage in Hamburg, an annual networking event for the German biotechnology sector.
