Jülich Intensifies Cooperation with Partners in China

Xi’an/Jülich, 19 March 2015 – Honour for Prof. Sebastian M. Schmidt: Xi’an Jiatong University (XJTU) awarded the member of the Board of Directors of Forschungszentrum Jülich an honorary professorship during a workshop with scientists from the Ernst Ruska-Centre (ER-C) The university acknowledged the important role played by Schmidt in achieving successful cooperation in the field of electron microscopy. This cooperation also saw the creation of an ER-C-affiliated institute in Xi’an. "Over the next few years, we want to intensify this collaboration in electron microscopy with our partners at XJTU and expand it to include fields such as solid state materials for energy technologies," says Schmidt who also signed an agreement to this effect with the university in Xi’an.
