Consolidating German-French Research Cooperation

Jülich, 15 February 2016. International visitor to Jülich: Daniel Verwaerde, chairman of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CAE), paid a visit to Forschungszentrum Jülich. The main purpose of the visit was to consolidate German-French cooperation. Discussions focused on potential collaborations in the fields of materials development, simulations, and big data, as well as on energy technologies. Mr Verwaerde learnt about the latest developments in these fields at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) and the Institute of Energy and Climate Research. A meeting with the Board of Directors of Forschungszentrum Jülich, represented by Prof. Wolfgang Marquardt and Prof. Harald Bolt, was also on the agenda.
