Helmholtz Pilot Project for the Development of Data Sciences

Jülich, 3 July 2017 – The handling of huge amounts of data is increasing rapidly in the fields of personalized medicine, climate modelling, the development of self-learning robots, and many other scientific areas. The Helmholtz Association is thus specifically strengthening its expertise in the field of information and data science. Five highly innovative research projects are set to receive a total of € 17 million in funding over the next three years, including the Helmholtz Analytics Framework project, which is being coordinated by Forschungszentrum Jülich together with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
