Germany's Best MATSE is from Forschungszentrum Jülich

Jülich, 6 December 2017 – Svenja Schmidt, former trainee at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), completed her final examinations and qualified in winter 2016/2017 as the best mathematical-technical software developer (MATSE) in Germany. On 4 December, she received an award for this achievement at an event in Berlin organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) honouring the best trainees in the country.

Svenja Schmidt is still at JSC, where she works part-time in Dr. Maik Boltes’ group "Pedestrian Dynamics, Experiments and Analysis" in the Civil Security and Traffic division. She is concurrently completing a two-year master's in technomathematics at Aachen University of Applied Sciences.
