Dörte Rother Receives Biotrans Junior Award 2019
Jülich, 15 August 2019 – “I fabricate building blocks for medications – in an environmentally friendly way, using little energy and without producing toxic waste.” This was how Prof. Dörte Rother summarized the focus of her research in Jülich’s effzett magazine back in 2017.
Though it may sound simple, this research has now been lauded by scientists both nationally and internationally as an outstanding achievement in the field of biocatalysis. The biologist, who works at Forschungszentrum Jülich’s Biotechnology institute, received the Biotrans Junior Award 2019 for her achievements in Groningen in July. The award is presented every two years at the BioTrans symposium, one of the most important international conferences in biocatalysis.
