Researchers Want to Simulate Human Brain
Contribution from Jülich: Know-how in supercomputing and brain research
Berlin / Jülich, 11 May 2011 – The detailed biological simulation of the entire human brain – that is the goal of the "Human Brain Project". In Berlin, scientists from Lausanne, Jülich, Munich and Heidelberg presented their contributions to this ambitious project on 11 May. The project is competing with five others for recognition as an EU FET Flagship initiative – large-scale, science-driven projects that aim to achieve a visionary technological goal. Next year, the EU intends to select two such flagships and fund them with up to one billion euro each for a period of ten years.
