New Evidence for an Exotic Particle
Jülich, 20 June 2011. Experiments at the Jülich COSY particle accelerator have provided evidence for a new complex particle that could constitute a new bonding state or possibly even an exotic hadron only predicted theoretically so far. The measurements also offer a possible explanation for a 50-year old puzzle referred to as the ABC effect. The results of the Jülich proton beam experiments were published in the Physical Review Letters on 17 June 2011.
