Hormonal Disorder Found to Cause High Blood Pressure
Jülich, 5 August 2013 – More and more patients are being diagnosed with primary aldosteronism. This is a kind of high blood pressure characterized by the overproduction of the adrenal hormone aldosterone. An international research team involving Jülich scientists has identified a new genetic cause for this syndrome. Their findings have been published in the scientific journal Nature Genetics (DOI: 10.1038/ng.2695).
