Electrically Controllable Qubits Made a Reality
Jülich, 2 September 2013 – Sometimes the more you aim for, the less effort you need – at least in the quantum world. An international team of researchers has for the first time produced and controlled a quantum bit, or qubit for short, consisting of three quantum dots. Their experiment demonstrates that such qubits are easier to control than qubits made of one or two quantum dots. Jülich physicist Prof. David P. DiVincenzo, who was involved in the experiment, had predicted this back in 2000.
