The aim of the program, in cooperation with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), is to enable highly qualified young German researchers with doctorates and doctoral researchers to spend a short period of research at universities and selected research institutions in Japan.

Funding is provided for research projects at universities and selected research institutions in Japan.

This scholarship has a duration of 1 to 12 months for doctoral researchers and 1 to 6 months for postdocs.

Fellowship started between July 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026
