Blog "A Bridge to Africa"
For one week in autumn 2018 young scientists from Ghana and other African regions will meet geoscientists from Geoverbund ABC/J in Accra, to get in contact with the latest methods of modern geoscientific research – modeling and simulation with supercomputers. The vision: Soil Research can support a secure and sustainable food production for Africa – and a week together could be the first step for future cooperation of geoscientists from both sides of the bridge. This project diary will report regularly how the bridge building advances.
The blog "A Bridge to Africa" is part of the prize-winning concept "The Pan-African Soil Challenge" (PASCAL) within the DFG Ideas Competition International Research Marketing. PASCAL is a joint project of Geoverbund ABC/J, the International Soil Modeling Consortium (ISMC) and the Centre for High-Performance Scientific Computing in Terrestrial Systems (HPSC TerrSys) under the umbrella of Forschungszentrum Jülich.
