AVR Fuel Elements: Nuclear Authorities Announce Decision

Jülich, 28 June 2013 – The competent nuclear regulatory authority of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Industry (MWEIMH), has informed Forschungszentrum Jülich as previously announced that it may continue to store the AVR fuel elements in the existing interim storage facility on the grounds of Forschungszentrum Jülich. This allows Forschungszentrum Jülich to continue to guarantee the safe and lawful storage of the AVR fuel elements after 30 June 2013.
