Astrid Lambrecht Appointed to German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructures
The Joint Science Conference (GWK) has appointed Prof. Astrid Lambrecht to the German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructures (RfII). The RfII advises the federal and state governments as well as scientific institutions on the further development of scientific information infrastructures and on issues related to the digital transformation in science.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Prof. Dr. Astrid Lambrecht to the Council and I am looking forward to working with her,” says Prof. Dr. Petra Gehring, Chair of the RfII. “Her scientific expertise and experience in heading one of Germany’s largest non-university research institutions will strengthen our dialogue on powerful, reliable, and responsible information infrastructures.”
“Information infrastructures form the foundation of modern research. For me, this appointment represents a valuable opportunity. Together with the members of the Council, I would like to help ensure that scientists throughout Germany have reliable access to high-performance digital tools and comprehensive datasets – so that excellent science can flourish,” says Prof. Lambrecht about her new role on the Council.
The German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructures (RfII) was established by the Joint Science Conference (GWK). Its 24 honorary members are appointed from information infrastructure institutions, research communities, public life, and the science ministries of the federal and state governments.
