Research into the “Microbe of the Year 2025”

5 March 2025

Corynebacterium glutamicum has been chosen as “Microbe of the Year 2025” due to its significant industrial importance. A worthy choice, according to researchers from the German Research Foundation’s (DFG) priority programme “InterZell”, in which Jülich scientists are also involved. The bacterium has been the subject of research within InterZell since 2019.
