Forschungszentrum Jülich offers excellent conditions for postdocs. An outstanding infrastructure enables excellent research as well as international visibility. This in turn leads to superb opportunities for early-career scientists in terms of attractive positions in science as well as outside of science.

There are around 300 postdocs from over 40 countries at Forschungszentrum Jülich. Postdocs work directly on research topics that add scientific value, while attaining their postdoctoral qualification. We actively support the early-career researchers in their professional development as scientists and in planning their careers.

We provide postdocs who are employed by Forschungszentrum Jülich with up-to-date information on career events, training courses, and other postdoc-related information via our mailing list. You can register informally by email: postdocs-join@fz-juelich.de

Guidelines

The framework conditions for postdocs are laid down in Forschungszentrum Jülich's Guidelines for the Support and Promotion of Postdocs (PDF), which Forschungszentrum Jülich has adopted. The guidelines include information on individual career planning, e.g. the Personal Development Plan (PDF).

At the level of the Helmholtz Association, the importance of supporting postdocs in their career planning is reflected in the Guidelines for the Postdoc Phase in the Helmholtz Association (PDF).
