Dr Rebecka Molitor wins KlarText Prize for Science Communication

Dr Rebecka Molitor has been named one of the winners of the 2025 KlarText Prize for Science Communication, awarded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation. In her German article “In der Tiefsee liegt die Lösung“ which translates as “The solution lies in the deep sea”, she compellingly describes how biotechnology could help tackle one of the world’s most pressing problems: plastic pollution.

Computing With Light: Forschungszentrum Jülich and Q.ANT Launch Collaboration on Photonic Computing

The Jülich Supercomputing Centre and Stuttgart-based technology company Q.ANT are launching a multi-year development partnership to systematically explore the potential of photonic computing for high-performance computing, and to identify new application opportunities.

Seven scientists from Forschungszentrum Jülich have been included in the list of "Highly Cited Researchers 2025" by the renowned Web of Science Group, which belongs to Clarivate Analytics. This distinction honours their significant research achievements, which are cited with above-average frequency in scientific publications worldwide.

Our 3 strategic research priorities

Information

The priority of information combines Jülich research in three areas: simulation and data science in high-performance-computing (HPC), brain research, and research on bio- and nanoelectronic information technologies of the future. Quantum technologies are another priority at Jülich.

Energy

Jülich energy research concentrates on an energy system based on renewable energy. Scientists research technologies on all scales – from the atomic level right up to industrial innovations – covering the entire value chain from basic to applied research.

Bioeconomy

The sustainable bioeconomy is a biobased circular economy that does away with fossil resources and utilizes renewable resources instead. Scientists from Forschungszentrum Jülich are developing new value creation processes.
